Time Out

 SSS Monday Challenge

Hi everyone, this time it's my last project for the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge as a guest designer. How funny it is, the theme this time is 'Time Out', well how does Time fly  when you're having fun! 😊

In relation to this theme my own perspective to time in this was 'The Future'.

I started with a Tim Holtz Sizzix die, the Weathered Clock. I cut it out of a plastic sheet to create my own stencil with it. Then I used it on my paper with texture paste.

For the clock and the center of it I used Distress Oxide, Peacock Feathers and Salty Ocean. How nice deep and bright colours these are!

I used yellow for the background to make the contrast with the clock even bigger. For this I used normal Distress Ink, Squeezed Lemon and Mustard Seed. These colours aren't that bright at the picture as in real. But still the center pops out.

The eye is a stamp from Jane Davenport, it's the eye of the future. I made the eye more bright by using a white gel pen for the iris. The edges of the clock as well on the outside as on the inside were done with black Distress Crayon. It's a very detailled job to do this without smuthering it all over the blue pieces.

For the letters around the clock saying "Only Time Will Tell" I used Tim Holtz Type Lower Foam Stamps. At the base I used Distress Ink Walnut Stains and on top of that Distress Oxide Walnut Stains was stamped twice. For this I use my Stamp Platform from Tim Holtz. To give the letters extra dimension I surrounded them with a white gel pen and a black marker.

For the stamping on the background I used a stamp from Prima Flowers 'Mindful'. It's a head looking into the future. Then I spotted the little bird on the head and used it a few times more on my card. The bird is waiting so patiently for something to happen. So I thought in order to 'Only Time Will Tell' let's place this bird on more places.

And at the end I added the tiny little apples. Yes they are really tiny! Just to give it a little sparkle.

Hope you all enjoyed this blog about how it's made and love to see you again when I'm going on with my craftwork!

Flower Power

 SSS Monday Challenge

Hi you all it's time again for another Monday challenge at Simon Says Stamp.
This week the theme is: Flower Power. In this context I made a powerful flower for a friend.

As I'm allways looking for something different, this time I wanted to use something that was meant for something else and then re use it. For this I chose the Tim Holtz Sizzix Die FANCIFUL FLIGHT Bigz Butterfly Alterations. It is meant to create a butterfly with it and I used the wings for my flower.

For the leaves (wings) I used Ecoline Liquid watercolours. Light Yellow, Light Green, Light Orange, Sky, Carmine in combination with Dylusions inkspay Bubble Gum Pink Shimmer. For the spatters on the leaves I used Dylusions inkspray Black Marble.
The frame on top of the leaves were painted with black gesso.

Here you can see a little bit of work in progress:

I wanted to create a bright background and it turned into something grunchy. At first I used Distress Oxide Twisted Citron and Peeled Paint. I dropped a little Infusions Sunset Beach and Slime on that. When it was all dry I put Distress Oxide Walnut Stain all over it and covered the edges with Hickory smoke. That all gave it that grunchy look.

For the stamping I used Heidi Swapp Magnolia Jane Clear Stamps. For the embossing of the words 'Special' and 'Unique' I used embossing powder from Ranger, Orange and Red Geranium.

I hope you all enjoyed my blog about how it's made and hope to see you next time!

Let's Doodle!

It's already the third week that I'm making a project for the Monday Challenge as a guest designer in April. And this time we are doodling all the way. To stay in my range of Jane Davenport stamps, I selected the 'Single Face' and flowers from the 'Mixed Media-2'

The face is a big stamp, so I used A4-paper. I took some pictures from the building up of her face. To make sure her face is as vivid as can be I used the Tim Holz stamp platform. You can stamp several times and your stamp wil allways be at the same place. The flowers were done manually. Beware, the platform comes with 2 magnets and you will need 4 to make sure your paper stays in place. Especially when you use Stazon ink, as I do.

For the background of the flowers I used Distress Oxide (Abandoned Coral, Peacock Feathers and Spiced Marmelade) As you can see I put them all together to form her hair. On top of this there's some Infusions (A Bit Jaded). You can spray some water over it all to let all the colours blend a little bit. I wanted it to blend just a little bit, so the big dots would still be visible.

After this I filled the rest of the background with Distress Oxide (Twisted Citron on the top  and Faded Jeans at the bottom)

The flowers were doodled by using a white gel pen.

Her face was coloured with Distress Oxide, Walnut Stains and a lot of water. For her cheeks, lips and eyelids also Distress Oxide, Abandoned Coral mixed with a little bit of water.

To create my own background letter stamp I used the Type Lower Cling Foam Stamps from the Tim Holtz Idea-ology with Distress Oxide, Walnut Stains.

At the edged I doodled the stitching. And for the background the Kaisercraft Gritty Texture stamp was used, all over.

I hope this was useful for you all and I hope to see you again!

Greetings Paula
